30 localities to go under EMCO from Wednesday

KUALA LUMPUR: Thirty localities in Sabah, Kelantan and Perak will be put under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) from Aug 11-24.

In a statement today, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the affected areas include three districts in Sabah, one in Kelantan, as well as 23 Orang Asli (OA) settlements and one district in Perak.

"In Sabah, the EMCO will be enforced at PPR Taman Sri Balung and PPR Taman Sri Titingan in Tawau; Kem 2 Tolokoson in Tenom; Kampung Kota Tuaran in Tuaran and Kampung Sarikan in Nabawan.

"In Kelantan, the EMCO will be enforced in Taman Sri Bayu in Tumpat and in Taman Meru 2B, Kinta, Perak.

"Twenty-three OA settlements within the Batang Padang district in Perak will also be put under EMCO."

The Orang Asli settlements include Kampung OA Sungai Lah in Chendering; Kampung Senta, Kampung Chang and Kampung Sanding in Bidor; Kampung OA Menderang in Sungkai; and, Kampung OA Batu 6, Kampung OA Batu 14, Kampung OA Batu 16, Kampung OA Batu 17, Kampung OA Batu 18, Kampung OA Batu 19.

The others are Kampung Kenderong, Kampung Sungai Rensa, Kampung Sungai Chendon, Kampung Sungai Odak, Kampung Ampangan, Kampung Pos Woh and Kampung OA Batu 7 and Batu 7 ½, Kampung Sungai Bot Dalam, Kampung Sungai Bot Luar, Kampung Sungai Tidong, Kampung Lubuk Gaharu and Kampung Woh Intake.

"All the SOPs for EMCO are as announced previously," said Hishammuddin.

He said the EMCO in Sungai Klau and Sungai Chalit in Raub, Pahang, has been extended from Aug 11 to 17. Earlier, it was scheduled to end on Aug 10.

"The EMCO scheduled to end on Aug 10 for Taman Kinarut Ria in Papar, Sabah and IBN Highland Construction Site in Genting Highlands, Bentong, Pahang has also been extended from Aug 11 until Aug 17."

Meanwhile, Hishammuddin said the EMCO in Kampung Mananam, Tongod, Sabah, which began on July 27 will end on Aug 9.

"The EMCO in other localities in Keningau, Sabah, that began on July 14, will end as scheduled.

"The areas include Kampung Patikang Ulu, Lumber Focus factory, Veracity and Hasil Jadi factory and quarters, IDA driving Centre as well as the Indonesian settlements.

"The EMCO that began on July 28 at Kampung Pagar Batu 6, Penjom in Lipis, Pahang; Kampung Kauran in Keningau, Perumahan Ladang Pontian Kuril in Kinabatangan, Kampung Menengah, Kampung Buang Sayang and Kampung Pasir Putih Sipitang, in Sipitang; Kampung Mostyn Lama in Kunak and Kampung Tawadakan in Kota Belud Sabah and Kampung Telaga Tujoh, Labok in Machang, Kelantan will end on Aug 10 as scheduled," he added. - NST
