8 localities in Sabah to go under the EMCO on Aug 13

 

The enhanced movement control order at several localities in Sabah and Kelantan will be extended until Aug 26

PETALING JAYA: Eight localities in Sabah will go under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from this Friday, Aug 13 until Aug 26, according to senior minister for security Hishammuddin Hussein.

In a statement this evening, he said three localities in Tawau – Kampung Kongsi 8, Kampung Bergosong and Taman Sri Apas Batu 8 – will go under the EMCO from Friday.

Also in Sabah, five other localities – Reka Halus plantation housing and the Boustead Trunkline plantation housing in Beluran, Kampung Kayu Madang in Kota Kinabalu, Kampung Batition in Kota Marudu, and Kampung Sunsuron in Tambunan – will also go under the EMCO.

Meanwhile, the EMCO at several localities in Sabah and Kelantan will be extended until Aug 26.

They are three Orang Asli villages – Kampung Jedip WCT, Kampung Sendrop and Kampung Seng Sang – in Gua Musang, Kelantan; as well as 11 localities in Tuaran, Sabah – Kampung Betutai, Kampung Bolong Baru, Kampung Bontoi, Kampung Kindu, Kampung Lapasan, Kampung Serusop, Kampung Sungai Damit, Kampung Timbok, Kampung Simpangan, Taman Sri Rugading and Taman Telipok Ria.

Still in Sabah, the EMCO at Kampung Lahat-Lahat, Pulau Sebatik in Tawau and the Bukit Mas and Linbar 1 plantations at Kinabatangan will also be extended.

Hishammuddin also announced the ending of the EMCO at several localities, mostly in Sabah, from tomorrow.

The localities in Sabah are the Angsana and Sumboi-Sumboi blocks at Kg Seberang Benoni and Kampung Pengalat Besar, in Papar; Apartment Taman Suria, Kampung Mangkadatan Notoruss and Taman Penampang Phase 2 in Penampang; Taman Perwira Ranggu and Block 5 Kampung Titingan in Tawau, Kampung Mamaitom and SKIM Kuala Tomani in Tenom; Kampung Meruntum Phase 3 and the PPR Sri Keramat in Putatan; Kampung Talantang 1, Kota Marudu; Kampung Ayer, Kudat; and Flat LPPB Sri Taman, Lorong 1 to Lorong 8 of Taman Kenari, Taman Mawar and PPR Taman Murni in Sandakan.

In other states, the EMCO at three Orang Asli villages in Gua Musang (Kampung Cekau, Kampung Lojing and Kampung Penangau in Kelantan), Taman Amalina Lestari, Raub (Pahang), the Bukit Berembun Plantation, Rompin (Pahang), and the workers’ quarters at Pelitanah Plantation 1 and 2 at Dalat, Mukah, Sarawak will also be lifted tomorrow.

On the arrests, Hishammuddin said the SOP compliance task force ordered 33 premises, comprising businesses, factories and construction sites to close yesterday after failing to comply with SOPs.

He also said 190 people were arrested yesterday over MCO-related offences, 173 of whom were issued compounds and 17 remanded. - FMT
