KUALA LUMPUR: Umno and PAS leaders are at the Umno headquarters today for a meeting.
Those spotted at the building were former prime minister and Barisan Nasional adviser Najib Razak, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and Kuala Nerus MP Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali.
The meeting follows a decision by BN MPs last night that they would back Ismail Sabri Yaakob as the prime minister candidate.
Takiyuddin was among the first to leave the meeting but he did not comment on the details.
Several media personnel have also gathered at Umno’s headquarters to get updates on the prime ministerial candidate.
Earlier today, the High Court had put off Najib’s 1MDB trial until 2.30pm, after a request from the former prime minister to attend a Barisan Nasional meeting at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL).
Trial judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah allowed the court to stand down at about 10.30am for Najib to leave and head for the Umno headquarters.- FMT
