Another drug-fuelled party in KL, civil servant among 15 nabbed

Eleven of the 15 who were arrested tested positive for drugs.

PETALING JAYA: Fifteen people including a civil servant were arrested in a raid on a wild party held at Jalan Ceylon Residences in Kuala Lumpur very early this morning.

Dang Wangi police chief Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the raid was conducted by the Dang Wangi Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) together with the Special Branch and the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division around 1am today.

“During the raid, drugs, speakers and disco lights were found in the room,” he said in a statement today.

He said the 15, comprising nine women and six men aged between 17 and 45, were detained in a room at the serviced apartment. Three men and eight women tested positive for drugs.

They were taken to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters for further action.

The case is being investigated under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and Rule 17(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations.

Previously on July 21, cops arrested eight individuals including four policemen in the midst of a wild party at a police station in the Kajang district.

It was reported that the eight – the station chief, three policemen and four women, who were civilians – were found partying in a ‘special room’ at the station. - FMT
