Major political parties in the country have been summoned to Istana Negara tomorrow following the resignation of Muhyiddin Yassin as prime minister and the collapse of his Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.
Separate sources within three political parties confirmed with Malaysiakini that they have been called to Istana Negara for a meeting with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
An operative within Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's camp, speaking on condition of anonymity, said his boss has received the invitation.
A Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) source likewise said they were invited and party president Mukhriz Mahathir is expected to represent them.
A well-placed DAP source also confirmed the invitation.
DAP and Pejuang said their appointments are at 2pm.
Malaysiakini understands that Dewan Rakyat speaker Azhar Azizan Harun and and Dewan Negara president Rais Yatim will be included in the meeting.
Rais' aide, when contacted, confirmed that he will be at Istana Negara tomorrow.
"The palace contacted Rais personally," the aide said.
