Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob is expected to meet the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to present his cabinet line-up today.
The audience with the ruler will take place in Kuantan, Pahang.
This was confirmed by an Istana Negara source, according to The Star Online.
The report said the cabinet line-up was supposed to have been presented yesterday but was postponed to today as the ruler was not in Kuala Lumpur.
Ismail Sabri will travel to Pahang today for this.
The report added that the premier was asked to assemble his government before Merdeka Day (Aug 31).
After the line-up is submitted to the Agong, the next step will be to swear in the new ministers which can take place as soon as tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy bin Wan Ismail confirmed Ismail Sabri had arrived in the state this morning.
Wan Rosdy received Ismail Sabri at the Royal Malaysian Air Force base in Kuantan.
