• consequences are far beyond any pardon   

great public outrage over any royal pardon 

• In addition, legal and judiciary system under threat of manipulation
• Law minister provided information from MACC probe into high court judge
• appears to be weaponization of legal system to attack judiciary

Was there any coalition deal?

• Law minister leak MACC documents implies deal between UMNO & Madani
• Zahid effectively most powerful person in cabinet
• controls 59 MPs in parliament, with GPS and GRS 
• Zahid kingmaker in any gomen
• If Zahid doesn’t get what he wants, unpredictable happen 

Where would the DAP stand?
issue is DAP’s displeasure over pardon 
DAP has 40 MPs in parliament
If DAP silent over Najib, support will drop dramatically

DAP stands for rule of law, staunchly against corruption
if Najib goes free might be too much

• a major test for DAP
• could potentially rip DAP in half
• it could force DAP to leave gomen 
• This would make Madani a minority gomen

Madani's optimal solution: A CSA with PAS

• The best solution for Madani would be CSA Agreement with PAS 
• PAS, DAP could support PH as minority gomen
• precedent for this when Madani signed CSA with Sabri, kept him in power

• We know AG has investigation papers on PAS leadership, holding in abeyance 
• Hadi could be disqualified from his Maran seat
• over statements about bribery and corruption prior to GE15
• Other PAS MPs could be disqualified for disobeying oath to parliament
• remedy for PAS is CSA with Madani, should it falter over Najib pardon

What exactly are you saying ??

Najib pardon is toxic for  stability of gomen 
directly related to survival of Madani gomen
