Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil took a jab at key opposition leaders Hamzah Zainudin, Muhyiddin Yassin, and Abdul Hadi Awang for skipping the Prime Minister’s Question Time in Dewan Rakyat.
In a social media post, he uploaded a photograph of their empty chairs in the august House and questioned their absence.
“This morning Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim answered questions about the outcome of the official visit to China, the vape issue, and the contract doctor issue.
“Deputy Prime Ministers Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Fadillah Yusof were also present.
“Unfortunately, once again, opposition leaders Hamzah, Muhyiddin, and Hadi were not present and did not ask questions,” said Fahmi.
He said it was a shame they did not attend the Prime Minister’s Question Time which is held every Tuesday.
“This is the best opportunity for the opposition to raise questions and to go face-to-face with the prime minister,” he added.
Just before the 15th general election held last November, Malaysiakini pointed to the poor attendance rate in the Dewan Rakyat of Muhyiddin, Hadi, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and former Sabah chief minister Shafie Apdal.
It was reported that in the five sessions of the Dewan Rakyat from July 2021 to March 2022, PAS chief Hadi attended 21 out of the 71 days, Warisan president Shafie only showed up on 20 days, Bersatu president Muhyiddin attended 17, and Mahathir was present for 26. - Mkini
