Heavy rain and strong winds around the Ipoh District late yesterday afternoon damaged five houses and uprooted trees.
A spokesperson for the Kinta District Civil Defence Force said they received a distress call at 7pm about the incident around Manjoi.
"Two houses each were affected in Jalan Berlian and Jalan Uthmaniah in the Perak capital, as well as another house in Jalan Kledang.
"The incident also caused several trees to fall and hit cars in Taman Silibin, Jalan Jelapang, Ipoh-Lumut Highway and in Lengkuk Rishah here," the spokesperson said in a statement last night.
He said some of the affected victims remained at home while some victims temporarily moved to houses of relatives nearby as their houses were damaged.
