I didn’t file for bankruptcy, says businessman Lee Kim Yew

 

Lee Kim Yew had been declared bankrupt by the Shah Alam High Court on Jan 26.

PETALING JAYA: Prominent businessman Lee Kim Yew says he has not filed for bankruptcy but was made a bankrupt by a “particular party”.

The Country Heights Holdings Bhd (CHHB) founder said he was declared bankrupt over a RM3 million suit, the New Straits Times reported.

“I did not file for bankruptcy. This particular party declared me bankrupt. I will provide more details about this matter at a press conference tomorrow,” he was quoted as saying.

Earlier this evening, FMT reported that Lee had been declared bankrupt by the Shah Alam High Court on Jan 26.

On Feb 3, Lee announced that he would step down as CHHB executive chairman to accommodate a change in management for the group’s transformation.

CHHB is well-known for constructing local landmarks such as MSC Cyberjaya, the Palace of Golden Horses and the Mines International Expo and Convention Centre. - FMT
