A Kelantan Amanah leader has suggested that Pakatan Harapan use the BN logo when contesting for the upcoming Kelantan and Terengganu elections.
Ketereh Amanah chief Che Ibrahim Mohamed said he was making the proposal based on several factors.
"Harapan is still not widely accepted in Kelantan and Terengganu.
"So, I think the single logo use is appropriate to demonstrate the effective unity and cooperation between Harapan and BN," he told Malaysiakini today.
Previously, the media reported that Harapan and BN would cooperate against their common opponents, particularly Perikatan Nasional (PN), during the upcoming state elections in six states.
Previously, media reports indicated that discussions regarding seat distribution between both coalitions were progressing smoothly.
However, the situation in Kelantan and Terengganu is believed to be very challenging for Harapan and BN as they were defeated in all parliamentary seats during GE15, which gave PN a clean sweep.
As such, Che Ibrahim said BN logo usage in both states was a more realistic option.
"This is because political culture in Kelantan and Terengganu has been inclined towards the clash between PAS and Umno for a long time.
"We have to admit that other parties are not popular and have yet to be assimilated within the political culture of Kelantan and Terengganu," he said. - Mkini
