PETALING JAYA: PAS has fulfilled the promises it made to Terengganu voters in the 14th general election (GE14), says menteri besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
The Rhu Rendang assemblyman said all 20 pledges made in 2018 have either been implemented or are in the process of implementation.
“I’m delighted that we managed to fulfil our pledges,” Samsuri said after launching Terengganu PAS’ 2018-2023 report card in Kuala Terengganu.
The Islamic party’s GE14 pledges included providing free water for the poor, building more religious schools and increasing Malay reserve land from 118 hectares to 1,000 hectares, among others.
PAS wrested Terengganu from Barisan Nasional in GE14 after it won 22 of the 32 state seats.
Meanwhile, Samsuri said the party will exercise greater caution to ensure it complies with election laws in the coming state polls on Aug 12.
On June 27, the Terengganu election court nullified PAS’ Ahmad Amzad Hashim’s victory in the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary seat in GE15 over allegations of vote-buying. - FMT
