Leaders didn't discuss allocation negotiations with us, claims PN MP

Bukit Gantang MP Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal claimed Perikatan Nasional MPs were never informed by their leadership about the conditions set by the government to negotiate for their allocations.

He said PN federal lawmakers were never even called up by their leadership to discuss how they would negotiate for their MP allocations, as requested by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

“I always ask the top leaders why they don’t negotiate. The answer they gave was that the conditions are strict.

“What are the conditions? We were not told (by the leadership). In fact, PN or Bersatu MPs were not even called to state how negotiations could take place.

“So, how are we going to be involved (in negotiations)?” he asked in an interview with MalaysiaGazette.

Syed Abu Hussin, who is the fifth Bersatu MP so far to pledge support for Anwar, said his situation after a year in office has led to many unresolved feelings, including with his constituents.

“A year has passed. I can’t give anything to them except the allowance that I can spend,” he said.

He announced his support for Anwar when he was posing additional questions during Prime Minister’s Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (Nov 28).

The questions were about Anwar’s willingness to welcome MPs with experience, expertise, and ability to help develop the people and the national economy.

“I am ready to help the government create a civilised society to deal with the increase in the price of goods and the cost of living by taking the advice of Prophet Yusuf AS.

“With this, Bukit Gantang declares its support for Yang Amat Berhormat Tambun as the 10th prime minister as well as for the idea of the Madani government,” he said.

‘Efforts to change govt’

Syed Abu Hussin, who was a former BN elected representative before joining Bersatu, further claimed there were failed attempts by PN to seize the government in the past year.

“Within the span of a year, efforts to change the government were made.

“Efforts to attract government supporters were made by the PN leadership,” he claimed.

Last weekend, Anwar, who is also the PKR president, told delegates at the party’s 17th annual congress that the government will not channel allocations through MPs who badmouth the government.

Instead, he said the funding will be disbursed directly to the people through government development programmes. - Mkini
