Three men including a reporter who allegedly works for PAS mouthpiece Harakah were arrested for trespassing the Selangor menteri besar’s official residence in Shah Alam yesterday.
The 5pm incident was noticed by police personnel on duty at the residence, who immediately apprehended the suspects.
According to a police report lodged by the residence keeper, the reporter earlier tried to walk into residence of Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari (above) but was stopped by the cops.
After his first attempt failed, the reporter allegedly tried to sneak in by hiding inside a Proton Waja, which carried two other individuals who were going into the residence for a meeting.
However, the second attempt was also foiled by the cops who inspected the sedan at the residence parking lot.
A spokesperson for the Menteri Besar Office confirmed the incident.
“Yes, they were arrested by police and taken to the Section 6 police station in Shah Alam yesterday for trespassing,” said the official.
Shah Alam district police chief Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim confirmed that police have arrested three individuals for trespassing.
He said police are applying for a remand order against the men.
“I will provide more update into the case after the remand hearing process is done,” he told Malaysiakini. - Mkini
