SHAH ALAM:
The Selangor immigration department raided several massage parlours in Bukit Rimau, Section 32, under Op Gegar last night, leading to the arrest of 11 foreign women suspected of immigration offences.

Its director, Khairrul Aminus Kamaruddin, said the operation, which began at about 8pm, involved 37 enforcement officers who inspected premises believed to be offering illegal services.

“The operation resulted in the arrest of 11 foreign women, aged between 18 and 47, comprising four Thais, four Myanmarese, two from China and one from Vietnam, who are believed to have been working without valid documents,” he said in a statement today.

Their offences included a lack of valid identification documents, overstaying, and the misuse of passes or permits.

“The cases are being investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/1963,” Khairrul said, adding that the detainees had been taken to the Semenyih immigration depot for remand and further investigation. - FMT
