Shell says working on restoring fuel supply at stations

This follows reports of several Shell stations running out of RON95 petrol and diesel.

Shell Malaysia said it is prioritising efforts to support fuel supply continuity within its retail network.
PETALING JAYA:
Shell Malaysia is working on restoring the supply of fuel at several petrol stations, following reports from customers of several stations running out.

“We are closely monitoring what is a very dynamic situation and are prioritising efforts to support fuel supply continuity within our retail network, in line with the government’s recent announcement,” it said, according to The Edge.

The oil and gas firm added that fuel supply at some stations might have been temporarily affected by a surge in demand in short periods.

Yesterday, the Penang chapter of the domestic trade and cost of living ministry said Shell was experiencing disruptions at several stations in the northern state due to a delayed delivery, involving RON95 petrol and diesel.

The price of subsidised RON95 remains at RM1.99 a litre under the government’s BUDI95 scheme despite the surge in oil prices caused by the Iran war.

However, the price of diesel in West Malaysia has surged to RM6.72 per litre currently. Diesel sold in East Malaysia remains at the subsidised price of RM2.15 per litre. - FMT
