KOTA KINABALU: Noraidah Lamat, mother of Zara Qairina Mahathir, lodged a police report against several Facebook users over alleged defamatory statements linked to her daughter’s death.She was accompanied by legal counsels Shahlan Jufri and Datuk Rizwandean M. Borham at Karamusing police station on Thursday evening.The legal team said the posts and comments circulating online contained false accusations, harassment, and insults targeting Noraidah and her family, describing them as “untrue, baseless and constitute serious defamation.”
They warned that further dissemination could be subject to legal action and may interfere with the administration of justice.
The next inquest into Zara’s death is scheduled from April 13 to 17 at the Coroner’s Court.Other lawyers involved include Mohd Syarulnizam Mohd Salleh, Mohd Luqman Syazwan Zabidi, Farrah Nasser, and Elhanan James. - dailyexpresssabah
