Tensions with PAS have led to the removal of senior Bersatu leaders Azmin Ali and Radzi Jidin from top PN posts.

Bersatu associate wing chief R Sri Sanjeevan said PN chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar’s decision to drop Azmin Ali and Radzi Jidin, as deputy secretary-general and election director, respectively, raised various questions.
He said this included the validity of Samsuri’s decision, claiming it was PAS’s attempt to tighten its grip on PN after ending its political cooperation with Bersatu.
“I ask all party grassroots and members to remain calm and leave it to the Bersatu leadership to resolve this issue,” he told FMT.
Yesterday, Samsuri announced that Azmin had been relieved of his duties as PN deputy secretary-general while PAS election director Sanusi Nor would replace Radzi as the coalition’s election chief.
Sanusi’s former position as PN treasurer was taken up by Malaysian Indian People’s Party (MIPP) deputy president S Subramaniam.
Sanjeevan said Bersatu was not informed or consulted about the decision beforehand, while the PN Supreme Council seemed to be “non-existent”.
Separately, Selangor PAS deputy information chief Nurul Islam Yusoff said the PN constitution stipulates that the coalition chairman has the authority to appoint the deputy secretary-general, election director and treasurer.
Nurul Islam said this meant that Samsuri did not have to refer his decision to drop Azmin and Radzi to the PN Supreme Council. - FMT
