Records show there are about 3,000 Sabahans registered as voters in Permas, and 2,000 in Johor Jaya.

Sabah Umno liaison committee chairman Jafry Ariffin said the state chapter had been tasked with aiding BN’s campaign in the Permas and Johor Jaya state seats, which come under the Pasir Gudang parliamentary constituency, Bernama reported.
He said based on current records, around 3,000 people from Sabah were registered as voters in Permas, and 2,000 in Johor Jaya.
“We were also assigned to this region four years ago. Sabah Umno is no stranger to Pasir Gudang,” he was quoted as saying after a visit to Johor Zoo in Johor Bahru today.
He said Sabah Umno would draw on its experience from the 2022 state polls to help BN win seats with large numbers of Sabah-born voters.
The Johor election is set for July 11, with nominations on June 27 and early voting on July 7.
The state assembly has 56 seats. Prior to its dissolution, BN held 40 seats, while Pakatan Harapan held 12, Perikatan Nasional three and Muda one. - FMT
