Azalina Othman Said says this network accounts for approximately 50% of the country’s domestic fuel requirements.

In a written parliamentary reply last night, she said the extension of Petronas’s previous projection was based on an official response tabled at a weekly National Economic Action Council (MTEN) meeting.
“This network accounts for approximately 50% of the country’s domestic fuel requirements and is supplied by Petronas through its publicly listed subsidiary, Petronas Dagangan Bhd,” she said.
Azalina said the crisis management task force established under MTEN is working to secure crude oil from exporters outside the Middle East, such as those in West Africa and the Americas.
Azalina was responding to Khairil Nizam Khirudin (PN-Jerantut), who asked for updates on Petronas’s previous statement that fuel supply throughout its network was guaranteed only until the end of June.
In April, the national oil company said fuel supply at its stations nationwide would remain secure until the end of June.
It also said it would continue to actively manage its supply chain to ensure sufficient stock across its stations amid the global energy crisis stemming from the conflict in West Asia. - FMT
