PUTRAJAYA:
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has submitted several governance improvement recommendations to Felda and two of its subsidiaries to enhance transparency in the implementation of the Agro Park commercial project and the cattle trading pilot project.

In a Facebook post today, MACC said these recommendations were presented through its governance investigation division to Felda, FIC Supplies Sdn Bhd, and FIC Integrated Property Management (FIC IPM).

Among the recommendations put forward is the restructuring of FIC IPM’s role as an independent advisory panel to ensure the views and advice provided are more objective, transparent, and free from conflicts of interest.

MACC noted that Felda was also recommended to establish specific standard operating procedures for procurement methods via requests for proposal and variation orders, as well as to improve transaction procedures by FIC Supplies to strengthen internal controls and transparency.

“Felda and its subsidiaries welcome the recommendations and have committed to implementing them in stages,” it said.

According to MACC, agreement on these recommendations was finalised through a governance improvement report signed by Felda deputy director-general of services Fitri Othman, FIC group CEO Syed Fadil Syed Sofi, and MACC governance investigation division director Mohazaki Hassan. - FMT
