It was a joy to see Raja Petra Kamaruddin on TV Thursday evening. Live in person, he caught everyone by surprise. Immediately on everyone’s mind was, how he managed to wangle an appearance on Prime Time Television? Everyone wanted to know whether he was in Malaysia, or the interview was done elsewhere.
Then as joy turned to amazement at what he said, many were shocked to see the about U-Turn from everything he held dear to and fought for. Anyone, who knew or has come across RPK and Malaysia-Today, was anxious to find out what the hell was going on.
Diehard fans of RPK insist that something is amiss. It isn’t normal of RPK to act in such a manner
In an exclusive interview with TV3 Group Editor Datuk Ashraf Abdullah in Perth, Australia, recently, he retracted his accusation against the First Couple – Najib Razak and Rosmah Mansor. Saying that he never actually accused Najib and Rosmah personally, and that the Statutory Declaration he wrote was grossly misinterpreted.
He also mentioned the names of four people - Nik Azmi Nik Daud, Colonel Azmi Zainal Abidin, John Pang and blogger Din Merican who told him about the events which was eventually recorded in the SD that he signed. We would expect that these four would be hauled up by the Police for their statements. Malaysians would be curious as to what secrets these four people may hold tight to their chests. He also said they should be charged and jailed, and they should volunteer to testify.
Implicating Anwar Ibrahim as the man who gave the green light to him for the go-ahead with the statutory declaration is another bombshell. It’s hard to believe that RPK is the sacrificial lamb for Anwar. For sure this time, Anwar will have a lot to answer to. With the ceaseless attacks on Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysians must now get used to the fact that Anwar will not be able to escape incarceration. For Najib and Rosmah to triumph, they must create a vacuum in Pakatan Rakyat.
Coincidentally, what he says also exonerates Najib and Rosmah. The First Couple can heave a big sigh of relief now that Malaysians know the Truth.
The heavy veil of guilt has been lifted from them, and the people’s perception of the First Couple will change overnight. Having to live through this web of lies and unfounded accusations that tied them to the Altantuya murder must have been pretty harrowing. Their constant denial of involvement was always met with smirks of disbelief and sly smiles. Now the First Couple can stand tall and proud that these unseen chains have been snapped. Hmmmm.
Even the UMNO elite was taken in by this great lie of the century. The fact that the first couple hesitated to take legal action against RPK, shows their meekness to contain this unfortunate episode from exploding. But the damage done is irreparable, as no matter what RPK does, it will not repair this great injustice done to the reputation of this Innocent Couple, who also happens to be our Leaders.
I bet now that Malaysians will see the First Couple as Angels in a new Light. What took him so long to reveal this fact? Shame on you, RPK!!!
Now, comes the big question of what made him do it? And why at the 11th hour to be precise, when the Postal Votes have already been cast for the Sarawak Election. So many questions linger in our minds. So much suspicion remain in our hearts.
Many theories have emerged in the few short hours since the news was broadcasted on Malaysian TV. From bipolar disorders afflicting him and causing his senses to react like Dr Jerkyll and Mr Hyde to a fake studio recording with editing, dubbing and splicing portraying him in a completely different light. Why, some even say that he has been Bought.
How shocking? Didn't RPK once say that unlike other human species, he can never be Bought!
The creation of the Malaysian Civil Liberties Movement with Haris Ibrahim also left many speechless about his intentions. Explanations on his site failed to convince Malaysians that MCLM can ever or was ever meant to benefit Pakatan Rakyat in quest to take over Malaysia in the next General Election or create a two-party system. In fact, Pakatan has since become extremely wary of him. Gee, I wonder why that is So?
Known by some as an honest, no-nonsense, outspoken snob with an air of superiority around him, RPK has certainly found a niche in Malaysian society. Praised by his fervent fans and cursed by his enemies RPK has certainly made a name for himself.
As Malaysia’s most famous Whistle Blower about to blow his Final whistle, this maverick still has many tricks up his sleeve. Wayward politicians shudder at his name, and many will not want to cross his path. With enough evidence to conquer a Kingdom, RPK is in a league of his own. With a sparring session going on in the Malaysia-Today blog going on to the 7th round involving Deepak and RPK, one feels a foreboding sense of a series of startling events about to unfold.
Or have they already unfolded, like the incredible Datuk T sex video and now the Omega watch already in the hands of the police. Don't they remind us of the James Bond movies and lovely stories we used to read on Malaysia Today.
We will not write him off as yet, and if we follow closely at the fast unfolding political scenario so close to Sarawak Election Day, where the outcome may seal Najib's and Rosmah's fate and ambitions in Umno, one can see a distinct pattern emerging.
Let’s cross our fingers and see what the near future will reveal.
