JATI......Bari menunjukkan MyKadnya membuktikan beliau bukan PATI tetapi Anak Jati.

"Saya anak jati Tambisan bukan PATI.

Kami mewakili Unit Pencari Kebenaran Rakyat ingin bertanya kepada KDRM;

Adakah Sistem komputer KDRM Labuan masih lagi dalam tahun 80-an?

Salam Hormat.

'PROJECT LAZARUS' MAKING SENSE!

Dear Editor,

THERE are times when I'm trying to make sense of what is said by a politician. On the other hand It also proofs that many of them are absolutely out of touch on what's really happening on the ground. It is very important to make an earnest effort to communicate effectively. Never take your readers or listeners for granted. Politicians must learn to think on their feet to ensure that whatever is said adds value to the message.

I don't want to sound like an expect however this is how I have perceived on what was reported in the local dailies. Have fun! :
SAPP has initiated 'Project Lazarus' - The chosen one will visit very Sabah 'Adun' who has been sleeping in the crypt for the last for years and place his hands over the body, look into the heavens and command, "Bangunlah Untuk Sabah."

BN leaders love to use this phrase: Sabah as a "fixed deposit." Is BN implying that Sabahans can be manipulated or Sabahans cannot think for themselves. I find this term "fixed deposit" rather insulting. Why not just say "Sabahans Favour BN." I feel this approach sounds calmer, softer and cooler.

This DAP chap mentions 'Pakitanis' as foreigners. We are all aware that Pakistanis are not from MARS. Other locals like to address Filipinos as PTI's. How would one address an American hiring a local? "Red Indian!" He went on to state that locals are willing to be hired for RM300 per month.

To me the issue is not who is hiring the locals. Its about earning an income below poverty lines. I can assure this DAP chap that the local enterprises are no better. As I have mentioned in my earlier article, that very indigenous leader(Bumiputra) in Sabah must support the implementation of the minimum wage.

One PKR wannabe came up with this theme: 'Turunkan Harga Kereta.' Please focus on minimum wages and improvement on the public transport system. You really don't want to choke Kota Kinabalu with more cars.

Another DAP leader got carried away on how corrupt practices could be curbed. Please be reminded that corruption has nothing to do with race. In India, the government is tainted with corruption. By sending Lim Kit Siang to India is not going to solve the problem.

My humble suggestion to all politicians are, please remind yourself's of this quote by Abraham Lincoln before you begin to speak: "Its better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and resolve all doubt."

What do you think?

Best Regard,

DOMINIC GERARD JOSEPH

NOT TO BE TOO CHOOSY WITH JOBS

ADVICED......Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid, Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, advised students graduating from the Technical and Commerce Training Institute (ILTP) not to be overly choosy in their search for employment.

SPEAKING to 250 trainees at an ILTP passing out ceremony held in Papar recently, Jainab said students will have trouble securing a job if they are too choosy and will not help themselves or their families.

"After the completion of your training, do not be overly selective when looking for jobs. Grab any opportunity that comes along, especially when it is related to your field of study."
"Parents should also play a role by supporting and encouraging their children to be resilient, open-minded and not too picky when searching for a job," said the Assistant Minister.

Such a feat will not only help stimulate our nation's economic growth but also benefit the people who will then be able to enjoy better earnings and abundant job opportunities," said Jainab.

RADIN MALLEH MASIH POPULAR

INTIM.....

BE WARY OF 'POLITICAL CHAMELEON'

KOTA BELUD : Sabah Umno Liaison deputy chairman Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak wants the people in the state to be wary of 'political chameleons' who frequently change their colour or stand purely to ensure their political survival.

He said when they were holding positions in the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, they supported the state and national development agenda and praised the government's concern for the problems faced by the people, but their tone changed when they joined the opposition camp.
"Now, we observe that they attack the development agenda which they had previously supported, and made numerous sweet promises merely to win the people's support.

"Actually, some of these opposition leaders had held positions as assistant ministers, ministers and deputy chief minister in the state cabinet line-up for years before defecting to the opposition pact.

"Can the people trust these 'political chameleons'?" he told reporters after attending a programme with the Malaysian People's Volunteer Force (RELA), here today.

In this context, Salleh hoped the people of Sabah would not easily be influenced by the sweet promises made by the opposition, but should instead evaluate the quality of leadership of the politicians who supported the opposition pact when they were in power previously and not "when they no longer hold any position in the government".

Brushing aside the allegations by the opposition that the BN government did not bring any development for the people of Sabah, Salleh said the opposition pact leaders had run out of issues and were now only making sweet promises and lies to win the people's support for the 13th general election.

"I believe the people are wise in assessing the development brought by the BN government and would not be easily influenced by the dirty tactics of the opposition," he said.

Salleh, who is also the State Legislative Assembly Speaker, expressed confidence that the BN was now in a strong position to achieve a major victory in the looming general election.

On RELA, he said RELA members should become the 'eyes and ears' of the government especially in the aspect of security including on the issue of the presence of illegal immigrants. (BERNAMA)

Two bungalows in Puncak Setiawangsa to be demolished for buffer zone

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 31 — Two bungalows in Puncak Setiawangsa, each belonging to Setiawangsa Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Zulhasnan Rafique and Special Envoy to the United States, Datuk Seri Dr Jamaludin Jarjis, will be demolished to create a buffer zone between the collapsed embankment and neighbouring houses.
Public Works Institute of Malaysia (Ikram) chief operations officer Mohd Taufik Harun said before any action is taken they need to get information on the condition of the soil and slope following a landslide in Puncak Setiawangsa.
“People can make recommendations, but we will look for the solution,” he said at the Collapsed Embankment Disaster Operations Centre, here today.
He said this move will help save four other houses situated on the hill and reduce the soil pressure on the hill.
“At the moment we find that the houses at the top of the hill will not be badly affected, but we worry about the houses of those living below,” he added.
Meanwhile, demolition work on a bungalow affected by the landslide in Puncak Setiawangsa last Friday is being carried out today.
Sentul Deputy Police Chief Supt Othman Abu Bakar said the operation will take several days to avoid another landslide.
“The operation was carried out carefully beginning from the roof and then slowly moving to the lower part of the house,” he said here today.
He said 283 residents involved have moved while seven other bungalows remain unsafe for occupation.
Vacated houses are monitored round the clock by the police, Rela and other agencies involved, he added. — Bernama

Jakim: Use of Allah by other faiths will bring harm to Islam

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 31 — The federal government repeated its stand today that only Muslims could use the word "Allah", amid renewed tensions over claims by Christians and other non-Muslims to use the term to refer to God.

Datuk Othman Mustapha, the director-general of the Islamic Affairs Development Department (JAKIM), issued a statement today pointing out that the use of the word Allah by other religions will bring harm to Islam.
He said the position was based on a decision of the National Fatwa Council decision in 2008.
The local Roman Catholic Church is waiting for the Court of Appeal to decide on its right to use the word “Allah” to describe the Christian god in their publication, after Putrajaya appealed against a 2009 judgment that said the church has a constitutional right to do so.
Last week the Malaysian Gurdwara Council (MGC) said that it was unconstitutional to ban anyone from using the word “Allah”, insisting that the National Fatwa Council’s edict on the word could not apply to non-Muslims.
In a statement, MGC president Jagir Singh pointed out that the council does not have direct jurisdiction over non-Muslims and could not issue fatwas to bar the community from using a specific word.
DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng triggered the latest uproar when he urged the federal government to allow the use of the word ‘Allah’ in the Bahasa Malaysia version of the Christian Bible.
He pointed out that this has been allowed in Sabah and Sarawak for the last 50 years and practised in the Middle East for more than a thousand years.
DAP chairman Karpal Singh came out to defend his party comrade last week, reminding Muslims that those of other faiths apart from Christianity also use the word “Allah”.
As an example, Karpal said that the word “Allah” appears 37 times in the Sikh bible, while the orang aslis, the babas in Malacca and even the Bengali language uses the word.
Yesterday, Perak Mufti Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria today told non-Muslims who insist on using the word “Allah” to refer to their Gods to convert to Islam if they refused to accept that the word belongs only to Muslims.
The controversial cleric also accused the Christians community of intentionally provoking Muslims by pressing on with their demand to use “Allah” in their holy book.
Jakim’s Datuk Othman said today that all parties were obliged to support the government’s decision to ensure religious harmony.

Diversity the strength of Malaysians, says DPM

Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin today said the diversity in various religions and races has been one of the biggest assets in Malaysia that should always be preserved and safeguarded.

Speaking at the National Christmas Day celebration held at Dataran Merdeka; Muhyiddin said we should always find things that would bind Malaysians amidst the diversity in religion and culture.

He said Malaysians should respect people of other faiths.

“The diversity should not be a hindrance and we share together the various religious celebrations with Muslims, Christians and other religions,” he said.

“Let us build on the tolerance of all races, sharing of the common values and strengthen on it and build on the unity of all Malaysians. Let us find and build a common ground in the diversity and respect each other.

“This is the strength of Malaysians as people’s rights to adopt different faiths is enshrined in the federal constitution. This is the main thrust of the people and we would strengthen these ties and relationships that will bind us further,” he said.

Also present were Information, Communications and Culture Minister Rais Yatim and Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur Murphy Pakiam.

Muhyiddin was met upon arrival by Rais and Murphy, along with other cabinet ministers and deputy ministers. Accompanying them were Santa Claus and ladies dressed as santarinas to the main seating. Cultural shows were put up by David Arumugam.

‘Prosperity not built overnight’

Muhyiddin reminded that the prosperity of the nation is not something which has been built overnight.

“There has been effort by all parties concerned including the planning done by the BN government and taking into consideration of the unity of all races as the thrust of the nation.

“We are thankful of the unity of the people and this is something which the BN government will continue to espouse upon that is to maintain the inclusiveness of all races and faiths. The 1Malaysia theme requires us to all think and move as one to build a progressive nation that could compete with other countries,” he said.

The deputy prime minister said we share the same future in the country of ours and let us share and chart the nation’s pathway to greater progress by preserving the peace by maintaining a high degree of tolerance and acceptance by the various races in Malaysia.

Muhyiddin said he is confident that events such as this would help build on the racial harmony.

Murphy, in his speech in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Tamil and Mandarin, said that during Christmas, Christians had prayed for the well-being of the country.

He also urged leaders of various faiths to teach other Malaysians to respect the various religions.

Over the past few years’ and in recent months the Allah issue has become a thorny issue between Christians in the predominantly Muslim population in Malaysia, as the Home Ministry and authorities had resorted to seizing books and video discs from Christians for usage of the word Allah.

Allah is mainly used by the Christian community in Sabah and Sarawak and also the Sikhs in the country.

This has resulted in the matter being brought to court where the Kuala Lumpur High Court had ruled on Dec 31, 2009, that the ban on the use of the word Allah to other faiths is illegal. The matter is still pending appeal at the Court of Appeal.
