DANGEROUS SIGN FOR BN, MURUT SUPPORT DAP?

By : DAP INTERIOR MEDIA

DR BENJAMIN Yapp, DAP Sabah Parliamentary Liaison Chief for Keningau and Tenom in a statement made in Keningau that the rural communities, particularly the local natives comprising majority of Murut in Kemabong, Tenom had demonstrated their strong support for DAP after the Party had set foot upon the interior District of Tenom for the past one and a half years. DAP Interior force had now penetrated into the remote rural areas of the Murut strong-hold.

Lim Kit Siang accompanied by his delegates, Member of Parliament Segambut Lim Lip Eng; ADUN Sri Tanjung Jimmy Wong; DAP Sabah State Secretary Dr Edwin Bosi; as well as other senior DAP leaders were impressed with the overwhelming support given by the rural folks.

There was a long convoy consisting of over a hundred motor-bike riders with DAP flags hosted onto their bikes as a mark of high regard as they proudly demonstated their ardent support for DAP said Dr Benjamin Yapp.

Never before in the history of DAP in Sabah had such a show of strong support from the Murut community for DAP in the interior commended Dr Benjamin Yapp, who is also the DAP Sabah State Rural development Bureau chairman.

DAP Kemabong newly elected Chairman, William Ensor Bin Datuk Tingkalor, son of a former USNO cabinet State Minister succeeded in recruiting 1,488 registered DAP members within a short span of timewith the encouragement and approval granted by the DAP Sabah Parliamentary Liaison Chief for Keningau and Tenom, Dr Benjamin Yapp who over-see the DAP interior operations and his Deputy Chief, Mr Phillip Voon that finally materialized with the setting up of the DAP Kemabong branch on July 8, 2011.

Lim Kit Siang emphasized in his speech that Pakatan Rakyat (PR) would have ruled Malaysia had Sabah and Sarawak States followed in the ‘political tsunami’ in 2008 that denied BN a two third Majority in Parliament for the first time in the history of Malaysia.

The participation of the people and their support for DAP Pakatan Rakyat in the interior was increasing in greater numbers and gaining momentum as the rural people realized the failures and weaknesses of the BN Government to bring progress and improvement in the basic rural infrastructures that frustrated the rural folks who had been neglected by the BN Government since Merdeka 48 years ago.

This major factor had ultimately contributed to rural poverty and lack of basic rural infrastructures and amenities in the interior and rural areas of Sabah, Malaysia.

It was formally known that Sabah before the ‘Merdeka’ Independence Day in 1963 was proclaimed the richest State in Malaysia but when Barisan Nasional (BN) ruled the State, it demoted to be the poorest State in the nation after 48 long years of BN administration led by UMNO Political masters.

This culminated to be a state of social, economical and political depredation unless there is a change of Government under Pakatan Rakyat with the people’s power and will to demonstrate their democratic rights to decide upon their future destiny in the coming 13th General election.
