By : DAP MEDIA

THE PAKATAN Rakyat campaign team led by the Sabah DAP Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament, Hiew King Cheu visited many kampongs in the Marudu district on Tuesday.

The team was made up of the Sabah DAP Vice Chairman Edward Ewol Mujie, the Kudat Chief Alex Wong, Orong Sahap, Kota Marudu Chief Bondly Yakim, PAS Sabah Commissioner Hj Mohamad Aminuddin, Anthony Mandiau from PKR and other PR members.

The PR team worked from kampong to kampong in the Marudu district, and they have gone to as far as the remote Kg Kotod 2 where the access road is totally impassible and had collapsed.

The road going to this kampong is so bad and broken up that ordinary vehicles are not possible to travel and climb the steep hills. MP Hiew’s car had to stop at Kg Kotod 1 and was unable to continue with the trip.

The team later proceeded to visit other kampongs like Kg Timbang Batu, Kg Mangkupa, Kg Rakit and several other kampongs. There were many issues and complaints brought up by the kampong folks, and they wished that the PR visit to be more often. The next time they will get ready to receive them in force.

The PR leaders said that their regular visit will be essential to help the kampong folks, and to effectively bring up their many problems which involving bad roads, electricity and water supply, agriculture aspects, housing requirement, schools and clinic in the area to the authorities concerned.

The team had received good support from the villagers, and the villagers gave them warm welcome and hope that the PR team can come back more often to visit them. This is especially so on the part of the KK MP Hiew who had spent time to be together with them. The villagers said it is seldom that they see their own YBs to come to visit them regularly and usually they even had faced problems to see them.

The PR team promised to make more visiting trips in the future and to see how they can help the poor kampongs here. The voices on the complaints from the kampong folks must be brought up and be heard by the government who seems to be not performing and caring enough. PR team will strive to achieve a goal to help to provide assistance to their best they can.
