NFC's alleged land purchase raises more questions

A visit by NGO Jingga 13 at two plots of land in Putrajaya allegedly purchased by the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) today has raised more questions after the group discovered the land titles have not been transferred.

jingga 13 visit to putrajaya land 181211 01"From our investigation, we found that the land titles are still under Perbadanan Putrajaya Holdings," said Jingga 13 chief coordinator Fariz Musa (second from right) when contacted.

Last month, PKR strategies director Rafizi Ramli alleged NFCpurchased the land plots PT 1886 and PT1887 for RM3,363,507 through the NFC's sister company National Meat and Livestock Corporation (NMLC).

He claimed that NMLC is wholly owned by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil's family.

Fariz said the discovery raises more questions as the money has been transferred but the company has not gained possession of the land.

"Does the transaction really exist or was it merely intended to move the money out without actually buying the land?"

‘Title transfer takes time'

When contacted, Rafizi insisted that based on his documents, NMLC had booked the two plots of land and the sum of money had been paid out.

"It must have met certain criteria, you can't book assets which you have not paid," he said.

Rafizi added that it was normal for transactions to go ahead and titles to be transferred a few years later.

Fariz who led a delegation to the site this afternoon said the plots were empty but the location was "very strategic".

"Beside it was a Sultan's bungalow and behind it is the prime minister's residence," he claimed. However he was unsure which sultan it belonged to.

The pro-PKR group had on Dec 1 lodged its third police reportwhen fresh allegations on the land purchase surfaced but no action has been taken by the police.

This report concerns several claims, including a RM534,633 purchase of a Mercedes Benz CLS 350, RM455,423 paid to a tour company and RM588,585 transferred to Meatworks (Singapore) Ptd Ltd, allegedly owned by Shahrizat's family.
