LATEST: Dr Badrol Amin denies he was caught for "khalwat".

I vehemently deny media allegations that I was arrested by officers for khalwat by the Pahang Islamic Religious Department (JAIP) in Kuantan. 

I am in Kuantan attending PKR leaders Seminar from February 24 until February 26, 2012.I am a active participant at this Seminar. 

On the evening of February 24, 2012, a women known to me, contacted me with a tone of panic and she had expressed her desire to escape from her house for fear of her personal safety. I strongly advised her not to do so. 

However, at 2:00 am February 25, 2012, she called me to inform that she had arrived at the PKR Leaders Meeting site. I have known this couple for more than a year back while the woman and her family had followed my umrah delegation. The couple often contacted me for advice on their family problems they both faced, including domestic violence cases. In an effort to help this couple, my wife and I have even visited this family in Rompin. 

Having sense of responsibility to see her with her ​​son in the early morning, I helped them get a room to stay. 

At 2.30 am the husband of the woman with about 20 gangster unknown to me invaded and attacked me. Her husband then took his wife and children away by force. 

The gangster men stop hitting me up when the security officers arrived to stop them. But they still did not let me out of the room. 

Only after 20 minutes after the arrival of officers from Pahang Religious Department (JAIP)did the thugs leave me alone in the room. 

Statement of Deputy Director of JAIP that I was arrested by JAIP officers for khalwat  is not true at all. 

I think that this whole incident is a planned action to trap and embarrass me. 

I am just called to assist in the investigation of JAIP on February 27, 2012. 

I will meet them with my lawyers to give full cooperation on this investigation. 

With this explanation, I hope that all parties will stop their accusations and slanders against me. I will not hesitate to take legal action against any party making any allegation and slander against me.
