Scandal after scandal, but everything remains ‘Semunya OK’ for BN

Scandal after scandal, but everything remains ‘Semunya OK’ for BN
It is indeed mind boggling. The expose after expose and allegations of corruption, wheeler-dealing, big-time murders, and what have you seems to have no effect.
Both the rakyat and the BN politicians are going about in a ‘business as usual’ air. That is mind boggling. In any other Asian country, by now the corrupt would be instantly removed by public outcry and condemnation. The Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia are great examples of how the citizens returned order and civility into their governments and for the better of their nation’s future.
Destroys livelihoods
The latest episode of the former Chief Justice clearly and publicly stating that Tun Dr Mahathir manipulated and handcuffed justice in Malaysia is not a new revelation. The citizens all knew about it for a long time. The opposition meanwhile were silenced into oblivion. The legal fraternity has been virtually paralyzed from putting back justice on its legitimate pinnacle.
But now that a Chief Justice himself has spoken, one would have expected some immediate correction. But it is also business as usual for the legal fraternity seemingly.
But no lah, not in Malaysia.
The BN politicians have turned their eyes and ears in another direction. Let the opposition bark. The citizens have no time lah. In all likelihood they do not even know how it has destroyed their livelihoods.
For the feeble hopefuls, it is a silent prayer of ‘wait for GE-13’. For many others it is 'tolong beri sedikit subsidy lah' or 'boleh beri kontrak kah?' and worst, for many any handout is 'great lah'.
Tun's democracy
When the judiciary is compromised, democracy is sentenced to imprisonment. When democracy is replaced by the Tun’s ‘managed democracy’ it means that the citizens have lost all rights to determine the nation they want for their future. And so in its place the BN becomes the government and the government is BN.
So it is no surprise if we keep hearing the same warnings and admonishments that ‘if you are against the BN you are against government; and if you are against government you are a traitor to this nation’.
By the way, wonder how come Hilary Clinton could publicly declare that Malaysia is a moderate nation that others in the region should emulate? What, kill the judiciary at the expense of democracy? Hope Barrack Obama has something to say to save the USA’s reputation.
