Umno 66th Anniversary Celebrations From May 1 - 13
KUALA LUMPUR -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced that UMNO would be celebrating its 66th anniversary from May 1 to 13 with a finale set to take place at the Bukit Jalil national stadium.
He said there would be a range of events including tahlil prayers, Outstanding Malay Award, Umno Malay Run, Carnival, futsal, motorcycle convoy and media forum.
"The Supreme Council has agreed with the concept that Umno's 66th anniversary should be held on its birthday which is May 11. We're planning a longer celebration and on May 11, we'll try to fill the stadium," he said at a press conference after chairing the supreme council meeting at Menara Dato'Onn here Friday night.
The Umno president also said the party had 3,340,508 members as of March 19 comprised of 1,095,112 ordinary members, 1,247,056 (Wanita), 381,012 (Puteri) and 617,328 (Youth).
He further informed that the Council had also agreed to appoint Sabak Bernam Umno deputy chief Datuk Warno Dogol as the division's acting chief.
