THE Member of Parliament for Sepanggar cum Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Deputy President, Datuk Eric Majimbun, expressed his shock over the news that an Indonesian teacher in Tongod had been found in possession of three Malaysian identity card numbers namely 770111-12-5319, H0888166 and H0556718.
According to him, the Home Minister had confirmed that the MyKad bearing the numbers 770111-12-5319 was not in existence while the other two numbers do not belong to the teacher concerned.
"It was exposed that the trained Indonesian teacher has managed to utilize all the government funds and facilities provided for education. She also managed to bypass all the relevant authorities as the MyKad she is in possession of belonged to a deceased individual," he said.
Majimbun pointed out that the ministry mentioned that it was an offence under Order 25(1) e of the National Registration Act 1990 before asking “but to what extent the enforcement of law had been taken?"
He was of the opinion that the government know who the culprits are but no action has been taken against them.
“All these solid evidence is just the tip of the iceberg. Every day we see and hear about unscrupulous individuals infringing our sovereignty. Malaysian Sabahans are protecting our beloved state from intruders who try to undermine our peaceful and harmonious state but what we see around us now is truly worrying," he stressed.
According to Majimbun, the BN government, especially Sabahan leaders, should tackle these problems with utmost priority as failure to resolve them will jeopardize our present and most of all our future generation.
He also was of the opinion that BN leaders might have forgotten their pledges on the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) since Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had not announced the setting up of the inquiry to look into the problem of illegal immigrants in the state.
"But true loving Sabahans are still pursuing it and we all know that the next government will definitely address the matter without fail," he said. - Sabahkini
