Well congrats to our Mount Kinabalu climbers for setting yet another record, probably the world's first of having the largest inflatable ego...ehh 1Malaysia inflatable logo actually, in Southeast Asia's highest mountain.
K.Ragunathan is certainly a man of perseverance, call him a true BolehLand hero. Lugging all those material up there, and hot air too to inflate it After all, it's BolehLand and its people are challenged, (directed most times really) to do all kinds of extraordinary feats to show the whole world we have the 'we can' do it spirit in us. Well, at least that is what the original fellow who conceived the idea envisaged it..
The odd thing about this 'Boleh' 'Can Do' spirit is, the Boleh spirit is supposed to make the nation great. Creative ideas than can turn into innovation and can make us rich and looked up as a nation of inventor and creators of things that can sell and people can buy.
So when the great leader asked ordinary folks to have the 'Boleh' spirit, the ordinary folks and kids included showed they have that spirit. So we had the longest ketupat, roti canai, tosai, even the largest yee sang, largest 1Malaysia logo made out of recycle products, or a glass of teh tarik being made at the highest peak, lowest point of Bolehland, driest part, wettest part, youngest group to make a 1Malaysia logo, do a synchronised dance routine, blow the flue, barbeque satay sticks, most number of people (same-same gender don't count) forming the 1Malaysia logo.
Hey if you use toothpicks, used ones that is, to make the highest 1Malaysia logo, you'd be in the hall of BolehLand fame, no?
Where is the innovation of the BolehLand spirit? Today, there are those who still defend their right to rights and privileges. So what is the BolehLand spirit supposed to be huh? Doing all those non productive things to get into the MGBOR - Malaysian Guinness Book of Records huh?
Or for that matter 1Malaysia logo and concept when we feel even more divided and put on a tourist show we are all one family when after the festivity, we are reminded who is given billions in business loans, government contracts, taxi licence, scholarships, even homes!
So our Malaysia Boleh and 1Malaysia concept, logo and what not, you get all kinds of superhuman feats with very very minimal translated into making this nation a people (well not all), who can't stand on their own two feet but feel proud to defend their rights to have handouts. More form than substance are being encouraged to boost the ego of the inventor of the tagline or the logo, right?
Bet this must be the largest inflatable ego..eh logo in the world at such a height and high elevation!
It clearly shows that BolehLand folks have lots of ingenious ideas. This Malaysia Boleh spirit has created lots of firsts. Check out the Malaysia Guinness Book of Records and you will be amazed by the creativity of BolehLand folks.

<--One man's many small steps up, One Big Ego Leap for 1Malaysia
Our heroes must surely be proud to have made someone real proud too! This perhaps have dispel the accusation by many pessimists that ordinary folks don't know what the heck this 1Malaysia concept is all about.
This big hot air logo in Mount Kinabalu proves 1Malaysia concept is not all hot air as many think now eh?
Look at this magnificent inflated ego..ehm logo that is, standing so stall up there in the cold atmosphere. All alone except for the hero. So high up noone can see it except only the creator. And since it's so high up in the clouds it becomes very blur most times because of the mist.
The only thing that keeps this 1 big inflatable logo standing tall is you need lots and lots of hot air. When all the hot air gets cold, it becomes limp.
It can't stand on its own really. It needs people to blow hot air in it to keep it afloat.
It will fall flat if you left it alone! And the only permanent record it leaves it was a great feat or looking logo is it found its way into Facebook, the media and of course blogs, like yours truly.
Well at least this feat showed that there are some who believe in the concept.
Definitely this feat will spur others to do a repeat, at Mt Everest? or even under the deepest ocean, what about the North and South Pole! Or a 1Malaysia Hot Air Balloon at next year's Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (ie if 1Malaysia survives GE13?)?
Now there is truth when the one who conceived of this idea also advocated it to the world leaders that 1Malaysia is truly a 22nd century wonder that will become a universal 1World concept where the world will live in peace and harmony and that everyone's rights is preserved (Is that what 1Malaysia is all about?) And the world world will live in harmony with each other. But with two proviso in the fine print. The first, under 1World the administrator is UMNO and as long as you don't touch Islam then you can have your peace, unity and what have you, huh?
Pray, our brave climber is a civic one and not behave like many recalcitrant climbers who forgot to take down their stuff and leave it up there to become a pile of trash and pollute the mountain! hah! - YAHMEH!!!
at least he have something to show to the world instead of making criticism in the media about the other people efforts which I consider the useless thing the people had done in the world..
ReplyDeleteI support what he just did. He put in a lot of effort into it.
Deletedon't forget that the spirit is a part that make people move forward.. not to prove they ego, but to prove that they can achieve as what has been achieved by the people in advance countries..
ReplyDeleteI wonder why is there such a sense of pessimistic and sarcasm in this article and to what ends does this article hopes to achieve? What ideas does this article hope to instill within the mindset of its readers.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, at least the sense of optimism is embodied with the spirit of Malaysia Boleh.
ReplyDeleteApart from that, this spirit too has been the sole motivator that propel some of our successful Malaysian to the pinnacle of their achievement.
ReplyDeletePoliticians all over the world, especially countries with democratic institutions and conventions, are the targets of criticisms, some correctly but many are mostly unfair criticisms.
ReplyDeleteThis is just awesome, Malaysia boleh!!
