Public perception a problem for BN!

• DPM MY said that BN faces a serious problem of public perception and he blames it on PR. While it is good to know that DPM appreciate the core issue but he still got it wrong on who did it. If BN cannot accept and understand why they fail in the public perception litmus test than their future is clearly doom. Ask any doctors and they will tell you that if they fail to diagnosed the root cause of any problem then chances are the patient will eventually die. Ironic isn’t it when BN has all the resources at its disposal and yet they failed in the public perception test.

• Prior to the days of the blogs, Google, twitter and I-phone public perception is controlled by government TV, UMNO owned TV and BN component party owned print media. I used the word controlled because the media publish half-truth and omit all the weaknesses of the government and literally plant ideas into the mind of the people that our leaders are clean and they have the people interest at heart. The way the news was portrayed sometimes it looks like BN leaders are messiah.

• Why is it that BN is losing the perception war-games? Simply said a “1000 hired guns cannot fight 100 volunteers defending their land” BN failed to win the cyberspace because their troopers took an offensive and vulgar strategy that makes peoples fed up. Most of them don’t believe what they are defending. They were paid troopers. They should have focused on showing their positive side rather than pointing the negative side of PR leaders. Have they not learned that all the sex scandals revelation has no impact on PR leadership?

• BN leaders are shooting in their own foot. One man is saying one thing; the other is saying something else. The negative perceptions of BN among the people are as a result of their own doing. They provided the opportunity for the people to criticize them. They create the bullet to make people hate them. Now whenever people see the signboard saying “Projek Kerajaan Barisan Nasional” the first thing that came into mind is how much UMNO-BN people are ripping of the government via the project. The intentional inefficiency and legally stealing are making people sick of BN. Unless BN accept the reality on why the people hates them, they cannot change the problem.
