To quash threat to public order or to quash rising opposition influence?

According to Umno president and prime minister Najb Razak, his Umno-led BN government will do whatever it can to quash any threat bent on disrupting public order and security. From Najib's statement, it looks like he is on the innocent and good side while the oppositions are always on the bad side.

In reality, the BN government is currently going all out to quash the rising influence and popularity of the opposition front Pakatan Rakyat. When Umno, and its sponsored NGOs like Perkasa, Pekida and Pembela send their members to create disturbance and violence by attacking and injuring members of the opposition parties in their ceramahs, peaceful gatherings and meetings, we hardly see any of these Umno, Perkasa, Pekida or Pembela members got apprehended, arrested, send to trial and jailed. Most of the time, these government-backed violent attackers managed to get away with whatever they had done i.e. disrupting public order and security of our people.

Najib, does your warning include those from Perkasa, Pekida, Pembela as well as from your own party, Umno? Come on, speak up! Can you assure us that these Umno, Perkasa, Pekida and Pembela would not disrupt or threaten the democratic process and our people who in accordance to the Federal Constitution do have their every rights to make their choice to vote for any political parties?

Just look at the recent case in a magistrate's court in Penang. The person who tried to prevent an attack was instead fined and not the real attackers who had clearly shown that they had intended to violently attack their victims. Where is justice? Even the judiciary is one-sided and acted in the interests of Umno and BN, aside from the police and MACC. If such situation continues, will the people be able to trust these three institutions? Certainly the people would not even respect these institutions anymore as they had been one-sided and not professional in discharging their duties.

When Bersih 2.0 and Bersih 3.0 rallied for the course and justice for our people, the police and DBKL enforcement units quickly moved in and crushed the rally without mercy. But when some uncivilized morons dispatched by Umno and their sponsored NGOs to create public disorder in housing estates and threatened the neighbourhood, the police personnel were only seen standing there around doing nothing to prevent such situation from getting from bad to worst.

Same thing happened in Penang, when Perkasa and Umno youth members held violent demonstrations in the state government's administrative center at Komtar and the residence of the Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng. Previously, when Penang state held a small gathering in support of the Bersih 3.0 and Himpunan Hijau, Perkasa and Umno hooligans were also dispatched to disrupt and harm the people who gathered there peacefully.

So, where are the actual laws to secure peace and public order? Is Umno fit to talk about preserving peace and public order for the majority to live peacefully? It sounds like a Nazi-type of system practically in place here in this country. First, talking about enforcing the law and order to preserve peace and public order, on the other side they unleashed their storm troopers and crack troops to kill whoever oppose to their policies and government.

Following Umno's footsteps, MIC had also unleashed their bunch of hooligans to create disturbance within the Indian community at large. Thanks to Samy Vellu (former MIC president), these MIC gangs were being well-fed for decades and now has been mobilized to "defend" the party at all cost. Will MCA follow suit like what Umno and MIC are both doing now? We do not know yet. They may do it at the last minute.

The influence and popularity of opposition front are increasing. Umno and BN is using the pretext of  "public order and security" to mobilize the police and other security agencies to quash the opposition movement in this country and to stop democracy from taking its course smoothly.

Let us all stand out together in full force to demonstrate our will to change and to ensure political terrorism expounded by Umno does not destroy this nation.
