WWW 15

  • I have been following the stories that relates to the Health Minister Liow winning bid for the car number plate at the price of RM24, 200. Apparently he has been side skirting the questions from reporters that relate to the payment of the number plate. When someone at that level cannot give a clear answer to simple questions, obviously he is trying to hide something.

  • There are several issues here. Clearly the money is unaccounted for and he would have difficulty in explaining the matter. If the government has paid for it than the bidder for the number would be the government. That would mean that the number belongs to the government of Malaysia. However historical records shows that the Malaysian government does not pay for any number plates. If it wants a number for official purpose, they just need to give instruction to the JPJ. On that account and the fact that treasury officers has confirmed that they do not have provision for such payment, it merely raised more speculation and embarrassment to BN. My own theory, most likely the number was paid by MOH one of the many suppliers and contractors.

  • The next question would be is the MACC. Why hasn’t it swung into action? Perhaps this is one of the many instances that they would only act when there is a report. When it comes to PR, they would even act without a report. People like many and me informed Malaysians would definitely wants to find out the truth behind WWW 15 purchase and ownership. Failure of MACC to act merely fuel more speculation on the corruption involving BN ministers. Our ministers generally have the lifestyle that cannot be justified by their government salary. It looks like the Minister of Health has just confirms it and if Najib don’t act, it means that Najib as the PM supports it. Perhaps in the next few days Liow will come out with a statement that he borrowed money from his relatives to pay for it and was simply to embarrass to admit it. Malaysian politicians are very creative, who knows what kind of excuses they would come out with.
