KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale occurred in southern Sumatra, Indonesia at 11.09am Tuesday, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
The epicentre of the earthquake was 130km southwest of Pagar Alam, Indonesia and 732km southwest of Pontian, Johor, the department said in a statement.
No tsunami threat was reported. - Bernama
