(Bernama) - Sabah Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Musa Aman has denied that the party is on the verge of disintegration in the state.
Instead, he said, the party remained strong and united despite undergoing controversies and challenges.
“It’s normal for one or two persons to be unhappy, but let them do what they want to do as it is entirely their business,” he told reporters at the breaking of fast hosted by Sabah Foundation here last night.
He was commenting on the sacking of Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin as deputy housing and local government minister, three days after he announced his resignation from all positions in Umno and Barisan Nasional.
On rumours that more Sabah BN leaders will quit, Musa said they were merely stories cooked up by the opposition.
“Do not waste time making wild speculation. What is important, the government works round the clock in the interest of the people and has no time for empty talk,” he added.
Tindakan Lajim keluar UMNO tidak bermakna UMNO akan goyah dan berpecah. masih ramai lagi pemimpin yang lain sebagai pengganti.

DeleteBaguslah kalau tidak berlaku perpecahan.
ReplyDeleteBN will be able to face this challenge and will be taking appropriate steps to remedy the situation and strengthen Umno’s and BN’s position.
Deleteyang penting UMNO dan BN teruskan menjaga kebajikan rakyat.
ReplyDeleteSabahans should not fall for the tactics of the opposition which tries to give the impression that Barisan Nasional is shaky and disunited following the exit of certain leaders.
ReplyDeleteMusa told reporters that quite a number of assemblymen and MPs left the opposition in the past. BN leaders did not make noise because, to them, this is normal.
ReplyDeleteBeaufort Umno, once led by former Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin, is very much functional with a majority of the divisional committee members staying put in Umno, according to Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan.
ReplyDeleteAbdul Rahman said that as with the other parliamentary and state seats all over the nation, BN was ready to defend the Beaufort and Tuaran parliamentary seats.
ReplyDelete"And we, God willing, will win them again for the future of the people and for the state and nation," he said. It's about the 'dacing' not individuals
ReplyDeleteAbdul Rahman was commenting on the resignation of Lajim as an Umno Supreme Council member, Beaufort Umno Division chief and Beaufort BN chairman effective last Saturday as well as the resignation of Datuk Wilfred Bumburing as Upko deputy president.
ReplyDeleteAbdul Rahman said it was clear that the people voted for the BN as a party and not the individual candidates "which Lajim and Bumburing are confused about".
ReplyDelete"The people put their trust in the "dacing" (BN's symbol of the scale balance) which provides solid plans for the future and not 'prima donnas' who only have self-interest and positions in mind," he said.
