Former private investigator P Balasubramaniam denies having served with Perimekar Sdn Bhd, saying he is not the person referred to in French court documents.
Speaking to Malaysiakini from abroad, Balasubramaniam admitted that he knew the other Balasubramaniam, who was named in court documents highlighted by Raja Petra Kamarudin in his Malaysia Today blog.
"We together worked in the security business and this Perimekar Balasubraniam was the one who introduced me to (political analyst) Abdul Razak Baginda.

"So, Raja Petra Kamaruddin (or RPK, left) equating me with the Perimekar Balasubramaniam is untrue as he is a different person altogether.
"I was not Razak's nominee in Perimekar as I was never in the company. Raja Petra got it wrong," he said.
He added that while he knew the other Balasubramaniam, the last time he saw the man was after being introduced to Razak, when he took the 10-day job in 2006.

"When he needed help to do investigation, I was roped in. However, after I worked with Razak for 10 days, I quit," he said.
Balasubramaniam (right) was responding to RPK's revelation yesterday on the possibility that the former private eye was involved with Perimekar and could have been Abdul Razak's proxy.
He has denied any involvement in the Perimekar board room tussle as this was a different person.

"Furthermore, as stated in the documents, this Balasubramaniam does not have an initial to his name. I had only been appointed by Razak as PI in 2006," he said.
RPK has stated in the translated version of the French national police document that Bala's name was printed in bold, saying that he was involved in the takeover of Perimekar before Razak came into the picture.
Another blunder, major one?
As to allegations that appeared in the Malaysia Today blog today that he could have been an accomplice to murder, the former PI denied this outright.
RPK in the article claimed that the man in a blue Proton which passed by Razak's house on that night was Musa Safri (a senior police officer), before Mongolian lass Altantuya Shaariibuu was handed over to two police Special Action Unit members.
Balasubramaniam said Musa was not the then deputy prime minister Najib Abdul Razak's special officer, but an aide-de-camp.

The person, Balasubramaniam said he saw in the Proton Saga was not Musa Safri but Nasir Safar (centre in photo), who was the PM's aide.
"I think RPK made a major blunder there. If you look at his past postings, the person whom I identified was Nasir, after I saw his picture giving the controversial racist (Biro Tatanegara) talk. It was definitely not Musa.
Nasir resigned as Najib's aide soon after the talk.
Balasubramaniam said he only received a call from Musa that day and not days earlier.
He added that he does not know why RPK was making all the allegations against him, but it could be a result of the popular blogger being upset with him over some issue or other.
