BN Youth secretary said the poster was seditious and can rip the society apart.
PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional Youth secretary Ibdillilah Ishak today urged the police to take severe action against those who were responsible for posting a seditious poster on an alleged Umno Youth Facebook page.
“It (the poster) is seditious and can rip apart the society.
“It is also blasphemous and presents a wrong image of Umno Youth,” said Ibdillah who lodged the report at the Jalan Hang Tuah police station.
“Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin doesn’t take these things lightly,” he added.
The report was made as a result of the controversial poster which was posted yesterday.
The poster stated that “Jika anda setuju untuk jadikan Kristian sebagai agama rasmi persekutuan Malaysia, teruskan sokongan anda kepada Pakatan Rakyat God bless you my son.”
In English it means: “If you agree to make Christianity as your official religion, continue supporting Pakatan Rakyat. God bless you my son.”
The post received a lot of brickbats from Malaysian netizens and was subsequently removed from the page at 6.30pm.
Meanwhile, Khairy denied that the Facebook account belonged to Umno Youth.
Addressing the issue yesterday via micro-blogging site, Twitter, the Umno leader said: “Yes, not our FB page.
“We have narrowed down the admin of the unsanctioned Pemuda Umno FB page with offensive post,” he added.
