Anti-Najib faction aiding Pakatan in Pahang

Will destiny be on Najib Tun Razak’s side in his battle with Umno and against party leaders?
COMMENT
Are these the last days of Najib Tun Razak? Will the “RAHMAN” prophecy signifying the end of the line of Umno, come true with the 13th general election?
Whatever the destiny holds, at least Najib is putting up a great fight.
There is a whole group of anti-Najib people within Umno who feel he might win the general election with a small majority.
Within Umno circles are loud whispers pointing to figures and statistics, proving that Malaysia and its current prime minister are not doing as well as they pretend.
Umno is certain that a Barisan Nasional victory will never happen with Najib at the helm. From conversations with BN insiders, one thing is clear: Umno fears handing over the party nationally to Najib.
The recent meeting of anti-Najib heavyweights who openly declared war against Najib could not have happened without some covert support of Umno’s grand old man Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
This is an indicator that the party has clear-cut division of camps, if not a split – those for and those against getting Najib out of Putrajaya.
Mischief in Pahang
A coup within Umno will pave the way for Muhyiddin Yassin to become prime minister in the event of a BN victory.
Najib unfortunately is unable to see the mischief afoot against him in his home town by his own men.
To that end those who claim to be close to him have already begun to work the wires to ensure that he does not win in Pekan.
It’s not difficult. It has been done before.
In the 1999 general election, which was dominated by former deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim’s dismissal and marked by mass defections from Umno, Najib’s 10,793 majority in Pekan fell to just 241 votes. He won on postal votes.
Those who want to confine Najib to Pekan, this time round, also wish to see Pahang fall to Pakatan Rakyat.
Losing Pahang will truly clip Najib’s wings even if he redoubles his efforts in continuing on as Umno president, seeking a national role for himself.
Pakatan is of course wholeheartedly aiding the game plan of these scheming “friends”.
What is clear now is that Mahathir has more friends in Umno than Najib and so the orchestration has begun in preparation for polling day.
