At The Nomination in Raub. Round One.

There is a Malay saying which you can read at the end of this article. it says- as bad as rancid meat is, you gingerly chew the moresel as it is still edible.

Ho khai mun , my opponent in Raub Parliament has already lost the first round. I knew what he was up too. I retained my composure. When our papers were submitted and initially cleared he went up to the returning officer and showed some documents from his smartphone.

I am having the first laugh. He wanted to win by default. He showed the returning officer some record from the insolvency department.   I indeed had an insolvency problem which I came to know when I wanted to renew my international passport recently.

The election law says one can’t contest if one is insolvent. Ho khai mun and his MCA minders including the head of the MCA Raub who had no business to be in the nomination room (he is neither a pencadang nor a penyokong) thought they could use this simple trick to disqualify me. But unknown to my MCA opponent, I cleared the insolvency in total so that I come before the returning officer, with clean hands as it were. The Dato Sri MCA head of Raub division perhaps doesn’t know me yet. But I cut my teeth building a career opposing people, including my former UMNO division head who is the PM.

So there you are. I am now officially a candidate in Raub parliament. Ho Khai Mun has underestimated me in this round. He thought I would be naïve enough to go into elections without clearing my name.

I know I can beat him now. He has already shown his true colours. Wanting to win using underhand tactics and not knowing how to win like a warrior.

It’s going to be interesting when I expose my information on my opponent. To the Raub Malays including my friends in UMNO, I leave them this message. Even the Chinese are supporting me, you Malays, want to abandon me, a fellow Malay and a Muslim?  There is an old saying in Malay’- sebusuk busuk daging, dimamah dimakan juga.

I haven’t gone on the offensive yet in Malay areas. Ho Khai Mun looked ashen faced when the two UMNO incumbents came up to me to embrace me as we were all old friends. Of course his UMNO comrades will help me.

PS: I am having 3 ceramah sessions today; (1) 5 pm high tea with Tamrin Tun Ghafar in Dong Raub, (2) 8 pm ceramah at Cheroh and (3) 9pm ceramah at Felda Tersang with Tamrin Ghafar and friends.
