LANGKAWI- Former Kedah deputy state secretary Datuk Ahmad Abdullah, 64, was named as the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate for the Langkawi parliamentary seat in the 13th general election.
PKR president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail also told a press conference here today that former MP for Kuala Kedah, Datuk Ahmad Kassim, 50, will contest the Kuah state seat.
Langkawi PAS chairman Zubir Ahmad, 50, will be the candidate for Ayer Hangat state seat.
Langkawi parliamentary seat, Kuah and Ayer Hangat state seats were won by BN in the 2008 general election.
The PKR candidates in Kedah are secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (Kulim/ Bandar Baharu), vice- president N. Surendran (Padang Serai), Nor Azrina Surip @ Nurin Aina Abdullah (Merbok), Dr Azman Ismail (Kuala Kedah), Datuk Johari Abdul (Sungai Petani) and Gooi Hsiao Leung (Alor Setar).
