‘Negeri Sembilan will continue to have Malay MB’

State DAP leader Anthony Loke says he is not pushing for himself to be made the state MB if Pakatan wins the state.

KUALA PILAH: DAP will not insist in having its non-Malay state assemblyman as the Negeri Sembilan menteri besar if Pakatan Rakyat manages to win the state in the May 5 general election.

In fact, the post would be given to a capable Malay candidate from Pakatan Rakyat, said Negeri Sembilan DAP chief Anthony Loke Siew Fok.

He said it was Umno’s political ploy to spread fears into the Malays voters by stating that DAP would be taking control of the state if Pakatan wins in the general election.

“Umno wants to scare the Malays that if Pakatan wins in Negeri Sembilan, we (DAP) will take control and that I will be the menteri besar,” he told a ceramah here last night.

“I have said this repeatedly. If Pakatan wins over Negeri Sembilan, we will adhere to the state’s constitution. Only a Malay leader would be made the MB,” he said, as quoted by Keadilan Daily.

He added that the non-Malays in this country had no problems accepting the leadership of Malay leaders, including having a Malay prime minister.

“But we want a prime minister who is clean and free of corruption…somone like Anwar Ibrahim,” he said
