PKR: Why cops given early postal ballots?

Wan Azizah demands an explanation from the EC on why ballot papers were issued to the police a day earlier than other postal voters.
UPDATED
PETALING JAYA: PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail today demanded the Election Commission (EC) to explain why ballot papers were given to police postal voters a day earlier than to other postal voters.
Wan Azizah, who is the wife of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, was referring to an annoucement yesterday on the official PDRM website which stated that they had received the postal ballot papers yesterday instead of today.
“They must explain to us… the parties and the public at large. Ample notice must be given if there is a change (in the dates announced previously),” she told a press conference today here.
“What is so special that they have to give them (the police) a day earlier?” she asked.
Wan Azizah said it was understandable to issue ballot papers earlier in Lahad Datu, in the aftermath of the Sulu invasion, “but why the rest?”
Not true, says Bukit Aman
However the police denied that they were given advance postal ballots to vote a day earlier as claimed by PKR and some blogs.
Speaking at a press conference today, Bukit Aman public relations officer ACP Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said the police would initiate action against those who spread such rumours under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, which is punishable with a year’s jail sentence or a RM5,000 fine or both.
“Saying that the police were directed to vote yesterday is confusing and factually wrong,” he added.
The EC has set April 28 for postal voting, April 30 for early voting, and May 5 as polling day for the country’s 13th general election.
On another note Ramli, said Bukit Aman had received 245 election related reports yesterday, bringing the total of such reports to 632 todate.
