Po Kuan, follow your own route THIS TIME

Po Kuan, follow your own route THIS TIME
Incumbent DAP Batu Gajah MP Fong Po Kuan said she did not want to contest in the election five years ago.
At that time, I wrote an article entitled A letter to Po Kuan: You have lost to yourself.
The article was filled with feelings and my tone might be a bit too strong.
Although the title wrote "you have lost to yourself", I actually hoped that she could change her mind and not to withdraw even before contesting. Instead of losing to her rival, it was a loss to herself.
It was our high expectation of her at that time. Fong Po Kuan has been a competent people's elected representative. She has a sense of justice and is outspoken. Her anger is always justified.
She is an icon of the alternative coalition. Just like the M-series mini sports cars of the British veteran sports car manufacturer MG, they were an icon in the automotive history. Their performance and appearances are epoch-making and well accepted by car fans. Other automakers have also tried to imitate them.
Sense of justice
Po Kuan joined the DAP when the party was scarce of talents. She brought glory and dignity to the party when it was trapped in a dull era.
I thought at that time that she should stay to fight for democracy and justice, and leave a historical footprint in the Malaysian political history.
According to her friend, the article had made a contribution in making her change her mind.
She later contested and gained a great victory. Po Kuan continued her political life for another five years.
Five years later, she again announced that she will not contest in the upcoming general election.
But this time, I will not say the same thing to her.
Political scene has become even dirtier
Times have changed, so has the political environment. The political ecology has become more complicated. Po Kuan is a fairly simple politician. Politics is no longer suitable for her.
Just like the M-series mini sports cars, each of them carried their own personalities.
However, when the automotive industry embarked on the road of mass production in which large-scale production line, economic scale and trendiness are emphasised, The MG that stressed on personalities lost its market.
Eventually, the production of mini sports cars was discontinued and its parent company Rover was sold to a Chinese company.
Later, if the Chinese want to revive the MG's M-series, it would not be the same MG anymore.
A two-line situation is emerging in today's political arena. It is a battle between two political camps. The values of individuals have been reduced, while the interests of political parties have increased.
Today's DAP has its political capital expanded and organisation stratified. It takes orders from the high-level personnel to please the masses. Its ability to fuse has reduced, so does the space to accommodate different views.
Regardless of how spicy a cili padi is, it would not have its own taste in a large pot.
Just withdraw from politics without reluctance.
