Root cause for BN's downfall: Dr M may have Indian blood but he is no Abdul Kalam!

Root cause for BN's downfall: Dr M may have Indian blood but he is no Abdul Kalam!
The great and world acknowledged Statesman, scientist and poet, Abdul Kalam of the world's oldest living democracy, India, pronounced a significant statement to the world when addressing the Members of the European Parliament on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the EU.
Tun Dr. Mahathir, whom his die-hard supporters proclaim is a Statesman, should borrow a leaf from India's sage and respected leader.
In his speech that received a standing ovation, Abdul Kalam quoted the wise words of an Indian poet who said 3,000 years ago:
"I am a world citizen, every citizen is my own kit and kin. When there is righteousness in the heart, there is beauty in character. When there is beauty in character, there is harmony in the house. When there is harmony in the house, there is order in the nation. When there is order in the nation, there is peace in the world".
Be a real statesman
Should our ex-premier who boasted throughout his regime about a peaceful Malaysia that has been co-existing despite its multi-racial, multi-lingual, and multi-religious social, religious and political fabric because of good governance, now not pause and reflect why he is racing on the railroad of racial and religious divisiveness and political derailment?
In this age of the Internet, a Statesman is one who receives standing ovation not only from his audience present before him, but also from the entire global community that converges on the net. Abdul Kalam is one such personality who won the admiration of the EU and the entire world.
He saw, fought and spoke for and held dearly the idea and virtues of a united humanity.
But as we Malaysians race to the polls in weeks ahead of us, we are confronted by our own version of a 'Statesman' who is spewing all kinds of threats of racial discord, political divisiveness and chaos should the over-five-decades-old political party lose in the General Elections come May 5, 2013.
What a shame. What a pathetic sham.
Why doesn't anyone from Umno-BN stop him
Why can't the ex-premier, whom his supporters praise and whom even Malaysians of all walks of life gave their trusted vote for all of his 22 years in office (never mind about the IC saga in Sabah for the time being), and for all of the BN's 55 years of governance now not see, hear and feel the very sentiments and disillusionment with the Tun and his brand of political prescription?
Why can't the Tun emulate or at least learn and teach from the leaves of great personalities who have contributed to the world's quest for a progressive humanity?
Why is he condemning, threatening, warning, inciting and spewing seditious and treacherous statements that seem to shatter the very hearts and minds of Malaysians?
Is there no one within his own political party who can stand up honourably and decisively tell this man to shut up if he cannot contribute positively to propel the nation forward as citizens of a single nation - Malaysians who think, reflect, feel and share the brotherhood of unity, justice and peace?
One of the root causes for BN's downfall
At the rate the Tun is blazing down the rail it would be no surprise if truly BN is forced into pasture come GE-13. It certainly would not be the doing of the opposition; it would not in any way be the trick of Anwar Ibrahim; and above all, it certainly would not be a case of one race out to kill another.
On the contrary, it would be recorded in the history pages of this nation that one man and just this one man alone, caused the downfall of a legacy political force.
And all those within the corridors of BN who stood by and did nothing to stop the diabolic disposition of the Tun, must in summary take a share of the blame.
But on the flip side, it could all be a blessing. For as the opposition coalition takes the mantle at Putrajaya, Malaysians may once again fast track to become a united nation of people who share and partake in the glory of nation building and become a world beacon for humanity, and thereby making up for the lost thirty years.
