BUKIT JALIL - Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor today admitted that there are flaws in the governance of the nation but said "there's no such thing as a 'perfect government'."
"There's no such thing as a perfect government, there's not even such thing as a perfect human," he said, adding that the government, however, needs public support, especially under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak, to realise their vision to move forward.
He said although it is not easy to govern a multi-racial country, the nation has moved forward since its independence in 1957 under the Barisan Nasional (BN) led government.
"Malaysia is built based on unity, we have a lot of races, religion, ethnicity and this what makes us 1Malaysia.
"I know a lot of you might complain about the government but it is not easy to manage a country with a lot of diversity.
"Please give us a chance, especially under the leadership of the current Prime Minister as we would like to make a lot of changes and would like to move forward," Tengku Adnan said during the official unveiling ceremony of Bukit Jalil City here.
Tengku Adnan said the BN led government has made tremendous efforts in spurring the nation forward.
"In order to move forward we need a support team to leap ahead and all of us can be proud to be Malaysians. We want everyone to be proud to be Malaysians irrespective of races religion," he added.
On Bukit Jalil City, he said, it offers both connectivity and lifestyle with the city covering a total span of 50 acres (20.2ha) of prime freehold providing amenities for business and leisure.
The city is a mixed development project consisting of Pavilion Bukit Jalil Regional Shopping Mall, The Park Sky Residential, Neighborhood commercial and Retail Offices.
The project which is a collaboration between developer Malton Bhd and retail planner Pavilion is estimated to be completed in 2019. - Sundaily
