NAJIB'S FUTURE IN THE PALM OF MUHYIDDIN'S HAND: Najib camp forced to wait longer for the DPM's 'bombshell'

NAJIB'S FUTURE IN THE PALM OF MUHYIDDIN'S HAND: Najib camp forced to wait longer for the DPM's 'bombshell'
Since last night, talk that Muhyiddin was returning home from overseas with a large crowd awaiting his arrival, and the possibility that he may make an important announcement, had Najib's supporters on the verge of a nervous breakdown, worrying in fear and impatience.
Muhyiddin's arrival was met with throbbing heart beats amid rumors he may announce his possible resignation as soon as he arrived at KLIA.
It also gave the impression to the people of a ‘black hole’ in the UMNO hierarchy and a possible breakup among the Malays once again, should Muhyiddin announces his retirement.
Indirectly, it shows the intense fear of the people regarding Muhyiddin’s political strength, and how sensitive Najib’s political future may be, laying in the hands of the DPM.
So, it was a big relief for Najib’s supporters, when Muhyiddin stopped short of making any announcement on his arrival in KLIA nor did he give any press conference despite the number of press reporters waiting impatiently, nor to stop to speak to his supporters.
Calm before the storm
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin arrives at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Even more reassuring was the fact that there were only 200 supporters present, when it was rumoured that a giant crowd would await his home-coming compared to the bigger crowds that normally await Najib’s return from overseas.
So last night was a win for Najib’s supporters due to the unfounded fear that Muhyiddin may make the announcement that would shake Najib's future, as their fear turned out to be unfounded.
There were even supporters who congratulated Muhyiddin for not bowing to pressure, even though there was an air of provocation from both sides.
Once again, unconsciously they have admitted that Najib’s fast deteriorating reputation was saved just because Muhyiddin did not make that perceived shocking announcement on his arrival.
The small provocations and games of perception in the media and social networks had made many of Najib’s supporters lose their appetite, giving endless nightmares.
Muhyiddin will make Najib sweat
Actually, Muhyiddin had no plans nor intention to make any shocking announcements on his return. The invitation to receive Muhyiddin was only spread to his close friends and supporters.
It was just a normal procedure that takes place each time Muhyiddin goes and returns from overseas, an intimate or affectionate procedure between his supporters and the Deputy Prime Minister, and his welcome home is usually attended by a minimal number of people.
His supporters and close associates also know that it is normal to welcome him back on short notice. His supporters also know that it would be impossible for the Deputy Prime Minister to allow a big crowd to welcome him home as it would be going against protocol or to make any announcement that may be detrimental to his political future.
His track record since becoming Menteri Besar of Johor and later pushing for the quick resignation of Tun Abdullah in 2008, clearly shows that Muhyiddin is a cautious leader and only makes important decisions if it benefited him politically.
Coincidentally, his arrival home from his holiday coincided with the hot political issues in the country and just after Najib’s ultimatum to the members of the Cabinet to either support him on the 1MDB roadmap or resign. But it does not mean that Muhyiddin had to react immediately.

In the political arena, especially on the humongous 1MDB debacle and the constant criticism from Tun Mahathir, something that has to be understood by Najib’s supporters is that Muhyiddin’s personal stand remains the same and will not change whether he made any announcement or not on his return from his holiday with his family last night.
Muhyiddin remains the same person as before. His stand on the 1MDB issue has never changed, just like his attitude towards the criticism of Tun Mahathir towards Najib.
Even if there were no giant crowds to receive him at the airport or any press conference or announcements on his return, it doesn’t mean that Muhyiddin has changed his stance or become a coward, nor will he bow to Najib.
Not handing in his resignation now doesn’t mean he will not do so in the near future, nor that worry about his job stability in the Cabinet will make him change his stance.
What is more important is that Najib’s supporters will have to get used to the fact that Muhyiddin will always a remain a thorn in the flesh for Najib's future, and they will continue to have sleepless nights everytime Muhyiddin decides to rock the boat. -  http://shahbudindotcom.blogspot.com/
