This was reported in a statement by judicial commissioner Mohd Zaki Abdul Wahab, carried by national news agency Bernama.
According to The Star, the injunction prevents Palanivel from addressing himself as party president, conducting meetings or passing resolutions on behalf of MIC.
On June 26, deputy president Datuk Seri S. Subramaniam announced the Registrar of Societies’ (RoS) acknowledgement of Palanivel's removal as MIC member.
RoS director-general Datuk Mohammad Razin Abdullah, in a letter dated June 25 to the secretary-general of MIC's interim central working committee of 2009, said that Palanivel had ceased to be a member of MIC ipso facto and that Subramaniam would take over Palanivel's duties as acting president.
Following this, Palanivel said elections for the party presidency will be held in September.
He added that branch elections would be held in July, with nominations to be held on July 15 and 16 and the elections on July 24 to 26.
