KUALA LUMPUR: In order to get a final resolution on a defamation case, said a political analyst in his latest blog posting, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and PAS Information Chief Nasharudin Tantawi should both return to Court. “They can both put forward their arguments in the search for the truth.”
Outside the Court, noted the analyst, they are both giving different versions of a reported out-of-court settlement on a defamation case initiated by Guan Eng, also DAP’s Secretary-General.
“Let’s see who emerges the victor,” added Shahbudin Husin the analyst.
The analyst was commenting on a statement issued by Raja Sharafina Raja Shuib, the Special Legal Officer to the Penang Chief Minister, and a response from Nasharudin who claimed that “they summoned me, then they requested an out-of-court settlement.”Raja Shafarina, noted Shahbudin, threatened to return to court if the out-of-court settlement, the terms and how it came about, were distorted in public statements.
“Rumah siap, pahat masih berbunyi,” said the analyst, on the continuing feud between the two leaders. (The house has been completed, the tools at work are still being heard).
