Zaid: Malays being ‘brainwashed’ into thinking dangerously

Dangerous-thinking Malays are the product of a rabid education policy, but moderate-thinking Malays are not going to be produced until Minister of Higher Education Idris Jusoh is replaced.
Zaid Ibrahim.
KUALA LUMPUR: There are only two Malays in the present Cabinet line-up, said a former de factor Law Minister, who can probably temper the “rabid” education policy that the country has now and create one that is more moderate and useful for the 21st century viz. International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed and Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
“But because the Prime Minister does not even understand that only a good education policy will produce intelligent and moderate Malays, he will not make any changes,” added Zaid Ibrahim.
What’s wrong with Idris Jusoh, who is the current Minister of Higher Education?
For now, said Zaid, he will confine his criticism to one of Idris’ plans, i.e. a programme providing “motivational talks and neuro-linguistic training” to university professors, vice-chancellors and teachers.
“The man tasked to train these educationists is a consultant named Md Taib Mat.
“If you peruse his Facebook account, then you will understand why our universities have become factories that produce mindless people.”
Zaid said that when he suggested that a documentary be filmed to explain the Indira Gandhi issue, and that it can be funded by raising money from the public, Md Taib said he (Zaid) should “collect the money from DAP pigs and those NGOs who are anti-Malay and anti-Islam”.
When G25 suggested that khalwat laws be reviewed, said Zaid, Md Taib commented that Muslims who are against Islam should have their heads chopped off. “Check out his Facebook account and you will see what I mean.”
This is the quality of Malays who roam local universities, lamented Zaid. “This is the type of Malay who is brainwashing younger Malays into having a dangerously skewed view of the world.“Such people would not have been able to do business selling such sick ideas unless the Minister condoned such practices.”
Idris needs to answer for his relationship with Md Taib, said Zaid. “He needs to explain what he expects from the motivational courses that people like Md Taib give and how our educationists will benefit from them.
“He needs to reveal how much the contract that Md Taib has with the Ministry of Higher Education is worth.”
If Idris cannot explain these issues satisfactorily, warned Zaid, “then he too is dangerous”.
Moreover, these kind of dangerous people and dangerous thinking that condone violence and sometimes encourage violence are appearing more often.
The atmosphere of violence is thick in the air, continued Zaid. “Just read the Facebook comments that Umno members/Malays/Muslims have been making about the Indira Gandhi case.”
Why are these Malays irrational? asks Zaid. “Because they go to universities that produce non-thinking, or rather dangerous-thinking Malays.”
Zaid said the solution to this dangerous thinking does not lie in forming the fanciful Global Movement of Moderates (GMM) to please US President Barack Obama. “It begins by understanding what the concept of being ‘moderate’ really means.”
